Former Portuguese prime minister Antonio Guterres has been sworn in as the ninth United Nations secretary-general. As Hannah Sinclair reports, Mr Guterres will replace Ban Ki-moon, who served two terms.
Antonio Guterres beat 12 other candidates, including seven women, to be sworn in as the ninth United Nations secretary-general.
The former Portuguese prime minister placed his hand on a copy of the UN Charter in front of the 193-member General Assembly as he took the oath.
