Queensland is hosting the 2016 National African Australians Awards for the first time.

The 2016 National Celebrate African-Australians awards event will be held on the 19th of November at Brisbane City Hall.

Organisers will honour and award the most influential African-Australians and their contributions to Australia.

According to Elijah Buol, National Awards Chief Coordinator, Queensland has seen the fastest growing and most vibrant African-Australian community in the country.

It is therefore befitting that Queensland is co-costing the 2016 National Celebrate African-Australians Awards together with the Queensland African Communities Council ( QACC).

The awards night will be attended by the most influential African-Australians, African diplomats, federal, state and local dignitaries in a night of celebration and display of the best of African culture and entertainment.
