In the late 1960s, Albanian emigrants in Australia realised a bitter truth, that there was no quick return home. They formed the Albanian Australian Islamic Association of Australia, bought land and built the first mosque in Melbourne, which is also the first Albanian mosque in Melbourne. The mosque was opened in November 1969, 50 years ago
To mark this anniversary, the Albanian Islamic Association in Carlton has decided to hold several events to mark half century.
