Politicians' behaviour has been a recurring theme this week in the national capital.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has landed himself firmly back in the headlines this week.

This time, it was his decision, along with new partner Vikki Campion, to accept a reported $150,000 fee in exchange for this tell-all TV interview, which airs this weekend on Channel Seven's Sunday Night program.

The reported six-figure payment is unprecedented given Mr Joyce is still a sitting MP.

The money will reportedly go into a trust fund for his six week old baby.

Mr Joyce claims he's tried to keep his private life private but has given in because of intense media attention.
