Concern over federal government withdrawal of COVID disaster payments

More than a million people in New South Wales, the ACT and Victoria stand to lose COVID-19 disaster payments in the next few weeks with the federal government phasing out the emergency payments. The payments of up to $750 a week will start to be scaled back once the states and territories reach 70 per cent full vaccination for people aged 16 and over.
