Growing demand for skills changes in the workforce

A shortfall in healthcare and social assistance workers in Australia means workers with the necessary skills are increasingly in demand. While the sector already employs 1.8 million workers, it's expected demand will soar in coming years as Australia's ageing population grows. The number of people 65 years old and over, currently 3.8 million, is projected to nearly double by 2042, and there is growing demand for skilled workers more widely.
