Italy blocks vaccines to Australia as EU scrambles to fill shortages

Vaccines destined for Australia have been blocked by Italy. It is the first time a country has banned exports of vaccines, under new European Union regulations. The move has triggered a debate on protectionism, even as a number of E-U countries start to negotiate their own agreements outside the bloc.
