Jeanette Mustafa was born in Babinda, QLD to Albanian parents. They had migrated from Korce in Albania and had settled in Queensland.

Jeanette started volunteering from a very young age. She was a Secretary of the Queensland Junior Farmers’ Organisation and participated in organising the annual Babinda Sugar Festival.
In 1991, Jeannette organised a Red Cross appeal to collect funds for Albania which at the time had just come out of the communist regime.
She later worked closely with Moira Kelly and Children First Foundation to collect funds that would bring Albanian children to be treated in Australia for a number of medical conditions.

She actively participated in assisting the Kosovar refugees during the war of 1999 and by then had assisted in the founding of the Albanian Australian Women's Association and had become a constant presence in all Albanian Community acitivities.
Some of the notable activities would be the Kurbet Exhibition at the Immigration Museum, Albanian Festivals and various activities as part of the Women's Association.

Our report will bring thoughts and memories by Sezar Jakupi, Erik Lloga, Lutfie Kadriu and her beloved nephew Rohan Hamit.
