Pandemic blamed for lowering migration numbers

A drop in Australia’s migration numbers this year because of the coronavirus pandemic is creating a raft of economic and social headaches that will elongate our recovery, according to analysts.


In the latest National Cabinet media conference [[Fri May 1]], Prime Minister Scott Morrison said there would be an 85 per cent fall in overseas migration next year, when compared to the 2018/19 period.
