Four nominees are preparing for this year's Academy Awards, (mon, aust time) hoping to join a distinguished list of Australians to have won a golden statuette. It was 75 years ago that a newsreel filmed by a legendary war cameraman made history by winning Australia's first-ever Academy Award. For audiences, it was the first time they had seen the Kokoda battlefield of World War Two in what was then New Guinea, along with the now-famous Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels.
