Week in Canberra

After a six-week winter break, federal politicians have returned to a dramatic week of Canberra politics. A relatively unknown senator called for a ban on Muslim immigration, and the Coalition's signature energy policy gained cautious approval from the party room. Each matter caused a ruckus, one louder than the other.
