With just four more parliamentary sitting days left for the year in Canberra, the Morrison government is trying to ward off embarrassing challenges to its authority on the floor of parliament. It's been a week of lows for the Coalition following the loss of one of its female MPs to the crossbench and threats of others possibly doing the same.
