1/3 Indigeneous people face racism online: Report

More than one-third of indigenous people have been the victim of direct racism online, whilst 88 percent have seen racism against indigenous people online.

That's the key finding of an Australian Rearch Council-funded national report.

It's based on interviews with more than 130 indigenous people from across Australia.

The majority of indigenous people surveyed said they were careful about what they posted online in case it made them a victim of racism.

But they also said they saw positives in the online world.

The report says they find a good place to fight racism and pass on cultural knowledge.
