10,000 pedestrians were fined across three years

Officers were spotted in the Sydney suburbs of Penrith, Chatswood, North Sydney and Bondi Junction this morning, raising the eyebrows of passers-by. While the offence of jaywalking is often not enforced, police have done blitzes in the past targeting pedestrians. More than 10,000 pedestrians were fined across three years during a crackdown between 2013 and 2015, according to Fairfax.
