Coming to Australia is a huge step for many of the migrants planning to come from the Middle East and North Africa, it is important that they are aware of the risks and advantages that comes with such a move.

1-What is your goal?
you need to put a goal of yourself, if you are coming here to get a citizenship and leave back to your home country then don't even think of coming from the first place, Australia have a lot of opportunities compared to USA for example.
If you are here only to get a citizenship then your 4 years of stay would be very hard as you wont feel that you fit in simply because it is you who don't want that !

2-Taxes
If you came from an Arabic country then you probably don't know about taxes and how important they are in Australia and how a big deal it is if you don't pay them, so read more about them and don't play “SMART” with the government as most of your taxes goes into services that you already use like childcare and hospitals ..etc.

3-Help yourself
You need to know that everything here in Australia is done by yourself so you wont find that guy who hold bags for you in the airport or that other guy who holds your grocery bags .. the lifestyle is different and you need to know that this is a very healthy lifestyle which require you to work hard and enjoy your weekends and simply be a normal human who is not dependable on others.

4-RESPECT the Multicultural and others rights.
Respect to other people and watching the way you act in public is very important in Australia .. most of Australian are polite and helpful when needed, you will be surprised by the amount of cultural and religious and racial differences around here but they are all following the same rules and respecting each other that's why they are living in harmony so if you have problems with certain race, religion, sexual orientation or any other matter then i don't think you will do well here, Be good to the people so that the people be good to you.

5-Not the heaven
BE REALISTIC, Australia is a lovely country with great chances of becoming something big if you want to, however don't have dreams about it being the heaven that you are looking for because you have to be realistic in your expectations, if you did everything right and had a proper job then this would be the best place to live in on earth however you always need to know that anything could happen so be prepared always.

6-Save your money
before coming to Australia you need to make sure that you are saving enough money to be secured specially during the first period of time where you are trying to find a job, its very important not to count on other people or government help because it is you who needs to plan this out after all.

7-Search for a job as soon as you get your visa
Make sure you start looking for jobs as soon as you've been granted the visa this ay you will know if the job market needs your experience or not also make sure that you have a clear line stating that you have a PR in Australia and legally do not require sponsorship to work as this goes a long way towards your CV being viewed and considered.

8-Be honest with yourself and family
The move will never be easy , leaving you friends and other relatives behind however make sure you and your wife are on the same page before coming here, its important that both of you are supportive of this move and ready for the challenges ahead otherwise you family life would be so much harder than it suppose to.

9-DON’T listen to other experience and take it as a guide
Their experience doesn't mean that its going to be yours !
Try not to dig into their horrible lives coming here and listen to how bad things are in Australia because each one have his own experience and his own mistakes, so the best is to listen to their stories and just learn from their mistakes but not take it as guide to what you are supposed to do.

10- Learn English and mingle with the community
Do not look for a neighborhoods and cities that are mostly people from the same country or city.. try to look for a place where its has different ethnicity so that your transition forwards becoming an Australian citizen is much easier, you will be surprised by the amount of new things that could learn from them.
English will make your life easier as if you can speak it fluently, more opportunities will open to you and your family.

At the end we wish everyone the best of luck in this transition and please note that this advice are based on the personal experience of the writer and not a reflection of a certain study or a guide.
