The federal government says the risk of a cyber attack on one of Australia's major resource companies is too big to ignore.
Attorney-General Christian Porter has launched the first cyber security centre in Western Australia to protect against attacks in the digital realm.
The Perth Joint Cyber Security Centre forms part of a $47 million government program to protect Australia's business community.
Mr Porter says W-A, with its direct investments, is at a high risk of a cyber attack which could have significant impacts to Australia as whole.
