A former Melbourne school principal arrests in Israel of Child Abuse charges

A former Melbourne school principal accused of 74 charges of child sexual abuse has been arrested in Israel, with her accusers welcoming the news.

Malka Leifer is accused by Israeli police of pretending to suffer from mental illness to avoid extradition over allegations she sexually assaulted several girls at the ultra-Orthodox Jewish Adass Israel girls' school.

 

Elly Sapper is recounting what she alleges was the worst abuse of trust and power at the hands of Ms Leifer.

 

She says the extradition process will help.
