Adani one step away from construction after bird protection plan approved

Adani has cleared one of the last major hurdles holding up its coal mine in outback Queensland.

Adani has cleared one of the last major hurdles holding up its coal mine in outback Queensland.

The state's Department of Environment and Science has approved the Indian mining company's revised plan to protect the endangered black-throated finch.

It includes strengthened commitments to undertake population studies and establish appropriate monitoring protocols.

Adani needs one further state approval to get on with its mine.
