Agriculture Minister David Littleproud says farmers are being intimidated by animal rights activists.
The Federal Government wants the states and territories to impose tougher criminal penalties for trespassing to deter more protests by animal rights activists.
47 people were arrested yesterday after demonstrators invaded farms and abattoirs in three states.
Mr Littleproud has told the ABC there have been several incidents at farms in his Queensland electorate of Maranoa.
