Bronte Campbell has anchored Australia to victory in the final leg of the 4 by 100 metres medley relay.

Campbell, fresh from defeating older sister Cate in the 100 metres freestyle final, surpassed Canadian Taylor Ruck to bring Australia gold in Commonwealth Games record time (3:54.36).

It was another big night in the pool for the Australians, with 17-year-old Ariarne Titmus [ah-ree-AHN TIT-muss] winning her third gold in the 400 metre freestyle, while fellow swimmer Mitch Larkin won his fifth gold in the 200 metre freestyle.

Australia now has 50 gold medals, with swimming and cycling making up 82 per cent of the country's total gold medal haul.
