Budget in April, Election in May?

The federal budget will be brought forward a month to the 2nd of April. ((2019)) The new release date would allow for the national election to be held in May.

The coalition government has lost another seat in federal parliament, with Julia Banks announcing she will immediately move to the crossbench as an independent.          

The member for Chisholm cited the leadership coup against former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull as the main reason for defecting, saying her colleagues were driven by their individual self-promotion rather than the Australian public.
