Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham is staring down demands to scrap NAPLAN tests as he prepares to thrash out a new vision for school curriculums with his state and territory counterparts.

NSW Education Minister Rob Stokes will use the meeting to push for NAPLAN tests to be urgently scrapped, arguing the national scheme is being used dishonestly.
