Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has used his budget reply speech ((in Parliament thu evening)) to promise what he calls a fully-funded Fair Go Action Plan.

Under an elected Labor government, workers who earn below $40,000 will receive a higher tax break, while those who earn between $48,000 and $126,000 will receive the same tax cuts as the Coalition promised in its 2019 Budget*.

Labor will also look to introduce a fair work wage, in order to address the rising cost of living.

Mr Shorten promises if elected, he would invest in education, by returning every dollar the Coalition have cut from public schools, and opening an extra 200,000 university spots and investing $1 billion in TAFE and apprentices.

The opposition is also promising to revise Medicare by adding an additional $2.3 billion for cancer care, in order to help those suffering from cancer receive the treatment they need without the financial strain.

Labor will also uncap the staff numbers within the National Disability Insurance System to ensure those with disability get the care they need.

Mr Shorten says Labor's budget reflects the values of health, family, the environment and investing in the future.

Meanwhile…

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says the people who defaced campaign posters of him in Melbourne are "cowards".

The vandals drew a Hitler moustache and devil horns on one poster, and wrote the words "right wing fascist" on another.

Mr Frydenberg's Jewish mother was born in Hungary and fled to Australia after escaping from the Holocaust.

Mr Frydenberg says it's completely unacceptable.
