The number of men who die by suicide in Australia every year is nearly double the national road toll and the emerging scientific evidence suggests that there should be a bigger role for nutritional psychiatry in dealing with mental health. For example, studies have found that taking probiotics (the beneficial live bacteria in your digestive system) daily was associated with a significant reduction in depression and anxiety. Vitamin B complex and zinc have also been found to work much the same as antidepressants.
