Footballer of the Year

Matildas star Sam Kerr has taken out the title of the Asian Confederation Women's Footballer of the Year.

Kerr has beaten out Japan's national captain Saki Kumagai - who helped Lyon to a second straight UEFA Champions League title in June - and North Korea's Sung Hyang Sim.

Kerr has been outstanding all year, dominating every international match she has played in.

It has been a remarkable year for the Syrian, which culminated in the 23-year-old forward being named Asia's 2017 Player of the Year in a glittering award ceremony held in Bangkok on Wednesday.
