Government announces crackdown on foreign interference.

A recent leaked audio clip for Senator Sam Dastiyari, in which he warned a Chinese businessman he might be monitored by ASIO, triggered a discussion whether Australia should tighten its regulations to control espionage. PM Turbull announced in Canberra yesterday a crackdown on foreign interference.

The federal government has announced proposed new laws to combat foreign interference and espionage, updating current laws.
