Hana arrived in Australia from Eritrea in 2000. She gained her journalism degree from the University of South Australia. She contributed to different radio stations before joining SBS in 2005. Hana won the Africa Media Award for excellence in journalism in 2014 and 2017 for her coverage of wide ranging issues and breaking stories. Hana is a producer and co-host of Australia Alyoum on Wednesday to Friday
