If you ask around about the number of the countries in the world, you would get different answers. As coining this number is difficult, due to some areas within the same country are under militia groups rule and exercise their own reign on the area.
The best way to know how many countries are out there is through counting the member states of the United Nations. The UN is an international organization that includes 193 that are admitted to the membership through a decision made by the General Assembly and recommendations of the Security Council.
Each country has a flag that distinguishes it from other countries. These flags usually hold a patriotic symbol and have a deeper meaning than just fabric and colour.
