An increasing number of young Australians are refusing to get a job, choosing to spend their time 'chilling at maccas' and going off-roading while the government pays their rent.

More than 580,000 people aged between 15 and 29 – one in every eight Australians – are unemployed and the majority are not interested in obtaining and keeping a job, according to an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development report.

There are 100,000 more unemployed young adults than eight years ago and 220,000 Australians who are unwilling to work, according to an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development report.
