Job vacancies rise 4.4% in February

The latest Australian Bureau of Statistics data shows that the number of job vacancies in February was up by 4.4 per cent on November's reading.

The latest official figures show that the number of job vacancies lifted 4.4 per cent between February and November, official seasonally adjusted figures show.

Employers in February sought to fill 220,900 positions, according to new data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Vacancies in the private sector jumped 4.2 per cent to 201,500, while in the public sector vacancies rose 5.8 per cent to 19,500.
