Labor downplays income tax cuts for rich

Labor MP Ed Husic says people shouldn't read too much into Bill Shorten telling a high-paid worker the opposition would look at tax cuts for people on $250,000.

Labor frontbencher Ed Husic says the opposition has been up front and honest about its policies after Bill Shorten told a worker he would "look at" cutting taxes for people earning $250,000 a year.

On the campaign trail in Queensland, Mr Shorten was approached by a coal export terminal worker who said it would be good to see a tax break for higher income earners.
