Western Australia has been shaken by a magnitude 4.7 earthquake, the second tremor to be felt in the state in a month.

Geoscience Australia recorded the quake near Lake Muir, northwest of Denmark, shortly after midnight on Saturday.

Residents in nearby towns reported shaking from the tremor, which comes weeks after a magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit the same region on September 16.
