A 33-year-old man on a sailing holiday with friends has died after being attacked by a shark in Queensland's Whitsundays on Monday.
The attack happened about 5:30pm at Cid Harbour, the same place two tourists were attacked in separate incidents in September.
The victim was airlifted with critical wrist and leg injuries to Mackay Base Hospital where he rushed to surgery but died a short time later.
The man was part of a group of 10 friends who had hired a self-driven, 40-foot yacht and were only on the first day of their sailing holiday.
