More GST forecast for NSW, less for Qld

The federal government will give a lower share of GST revenue to Queensland and more to NSW in 2019/20 according to a Commonwealth Grants Commission forecast.

Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory could get a smaller portion of GST revenue in the coming financial year.

The Commonwealth Grants Commission - the independent body overseeing GST distribution - has forecast the lower shares after determining each will be earning more of their own income.
