The head of the Mossad intelligence service said Monday that Israel was renewing ties with Oman.

“Just recently, renewal of formal relations with Oman was declared and the establishment of a representative office of the foreign ministry in that country,” Yossi Cohen said at the Herzliya Conference, hosted by the Interdisciplinary Center this week.

The head of Israel’s intelligence service said flatly that Iran was directly responsible for the repeated attacks on oil tankers in the Persian Gulf, along with other targets in Saudi Arabia and Iraq, that have raised tensions in the Middle East.

“They are a single campaign initiated by a single party,” Cohen, said in his speech. He did not provide any evidence to support his claim or explain how the Israeli authorities had come to that conclusion.
