Munich builds wall between German locals and refugees

The Munich wall is higher than the structure that became the symbol of a divided nation. It is intended to shield local residents from a refugee hostel. The Munich wall has been the subject of more than a year of legal wrangling between residents and the city before finally being built. Six people complained about potential disturbance to their lives and property when plans were first announced in 2014 for a new asylum shelter accommodating 160 people in the suburb of Neuperlach South.
