Pauline Hanson "People should need ID if they want to access welfare.'

The government is considering a radical plan to crack down on welfare cheats, which would require Australians to get an identity card linked to their fingerprints. The idea comes from One Nation leader Pauline Hanson. Senator Hanson told News Corp it's common sense and the best way to stop overpayments and fraud. Ms Hanson has told the government the card should be voluntary but is essential if recipients want to keep receiving their dole, family tax benefit and child care payments.
