Police officer stabbed 'in neck' in Sydney

A NSW police officer is in hospital after being allegedly stabbed in the neck and hand while attending a Sydney home in relation to a warrant.

A NSW police officer has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the neck and hand in Sydney's southwest.

The male constable was attending a home on Heckenberg Avenue in Sadleir, near Liverpool, just before 7am in relation to a warrant when he was allegedly confronted by a man.

The 24-year-old was stabbed in the hand and slashed in the neck, NSW Police said.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Two men were arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool police station.
