Queensland is no longer Australia's fattest state

Authorities are crediting campaigns encouraging people to be more active for the good news- and say that people in poorer areas are becoming more active than others. Queensland's Chief Health Officer, Jeannette Young, has welcomed losing the title of the fattest state . Approximately 30 percent of Queenslanders are obese and 65 percent are overweight or obese. The title of Australia's fattest state now belongs to Tasmania, where 32 percent of adults are obese, and 67 percent are overweight or obese.
