Rudd was warned about his government's home insulation scheme

It's being alleged former Labor Prime Minister Kevin Rudd was warned about his government's home insulation scheme that lead to the deaths of four installers.

The ABC is reporting a cabinet document issued in April 2009, months before the Energy Efficient Homes Package's launch, warned of "critical risks".

After the installation workers died in separate incidents from electrocution and hyperthermia, the package was discontinued in February 2010.

In 2014, Mr Rudd told a royal commission into the program the rollout would have been delayed had cabinet been warned of the safety risks
