Saleem arrived in Australia in 2012 from Iraq. He has a PhD in Translation and General Linguistics. He has been trained in news by Reuters in Cairo. He was Head of the English Service and Managing Editor of Aswat Al-Iraq (Voices of Iraq) News Agency - A media project run by the Reuters Foundation and funded by the UNDP. Saleem has also contributed to Knight Ridder newspapers in the US and Der Spiegel magazine in Germany. Saleem is a roving presenter and producer on SBS Arabic24.
