The Lebanese-Australian fighter was defeated by South Korea's Ji Yeon Kim by technical knockout in the second round at Marvel Stadium.
The loss was Kassem's second in a row and saw her move to five wins and two losses from seven professional fights. Following the fight, Kim said she focused on striking in preparation for the bout.
"I’ve been preparing a lot for this fight. I’m glad I finished it with a dominant finish," she said.
"It’s been a long time, but I’m very satisfied with my performance. I really wanted to live up to my nickname and show off my fists."
Kassem previously told SBS Arabic24 that she hoped her career path set an example to all females.
"My family is supportive of what I'm doing. In a way, it's pretty cool because not many females, especially from my background, participate in this sport. In a way, I hope it does help to break down stigmas for females in sport," she said.
"That does push me, and I do hope I inspire somebody else to go out there and try something they haven't tried before, to follow their heart because I believe that I do a lot of things by following my heart."
