Residents of Sydney's cracked Opal Tower are considering launching a class action against those found to be responsible for the building's faults.

The Sydney Olympic Park apartment tower was evacuated on Christmas Eve after cracks were found in the structure, with residents still kept out of the building while an investigation into the problem continues.
