The coalition sets a date for Same-sex marriage plebiscite

 The Coalition joint party room has endorsed a plan for a November 25 plebiscite if a bill to allow a compulsory vote is passed.

If this bill fails, a postal vote would be held with ballot papers to be returned by early November, at a cost of around $120 million.
