Disgruntled social media users have vented their frustration on Twitter, altering images of the cover - that saw the businessman turned political sitting solemnly on a chair - and making comparisons to other political figures, such as Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Putin.
In a statement explaining their decision, Time said: "It's hard to measure the scale of his disruption. For those who believe this is all for the better, Trump's victory represents a long-overdue rebuke to an entrenched and arrogant governing class."
“Here, Mr. Trump. Let’s try one in this old chair, and could you turn just so? Hold it… Hold it… Got it. Thank you!” pic.twitter.com/SZPV0oqC2t
