The United Nations Security Council has begun an emergency meeting on North Korea's rocket launch.
The reclusive country launched a long-range rocket earlier on Sunday saying it carried a satellite which it claimed was successfully launched into space. But its feared that its real purpose was to test a ballistic missile. Diplomats say they expected the Security Council to condemn the action and renew efforts to agree on new sanctions. Foreign Julie Bishop has condemned the launch, calling the rogue nation a threat to peace.
