Tim Cahill retires from international football

Tim Cahill has retired from international football after 107 games and 50 goals with the Socceroos.

The 38-year-old came off the bench against Peru in Australia's group stage clash at the World Cup in what was to be his last appearance in the green and gold.

Announcing his retirement on social media, Cahill says nothing can describe what it means to represent his country.
