An Australian woman has been shot dead by police in the US city of Minneapolis in an incident in which the officers did not have their body cameras turned on.
She was killed when two police officers responded to a 911 call about a possible assault in an alley behind a home about 11.30pm on Saturday, local time.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has announced new measures to enhance defence's support to national counter-terrorism arrangements.
He says the measures will ensure that the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is more readily available to respond to terrorism incidents providing State and Territory police with the extra support to call on when they need it.
Soldiers from Australia's special forces will train police in counter-terrorism strategies and the Army will be given new powers to respond to unfolding terror attacks under a national security overhaul.
Mr Turnbull says state and territory police will still be the first responders in terror attacks, but the Defence Act will be changed so the Army can be called out to assist more easily.
That will involve the removal of a provision that currently says the states cannot ask the military for assistance until their own capabilities have been exceeded.
Mr Turnbull says Defence Force officers will be embedded inside police response units to improve cooperation
