Two officials at Australian High Commission in South Africa sacked

Two officials at the Australian High Commission in South Africa have reportedly been sacked amid a probe into allegations Nigerian nationals paid bribes for visas.

The Herald Sun is reporting at least 21 Nigerians received Australian student visas.

The Department for Home Affairs has confirmed to the paper that two people, not Australian citizens, have been sacked from the High Commission.                    

Officials had been accused of bypassing mandatory checks and granting visas within days to people deemed by Australia as high-risk.
