Vaccination video leaves authorities investigating doctors

Victorian health authorities are investigating claims that three Melbourne doctors are helping parents avoid vaccinating their children. The controversy emerged after a video in which a GP claims to have helped hundreds of families avoid the state government's "no jab, no play" rules.

It started with a video posted online, which claimed hundreds of families are being helped to avoid government vaccination programs.

The speaker at this Melbourne forum said, with the help of sympathetic doctors, families had been getting exemptions from having to have their children vaccinated.

Since 2014, laws in Victoria have prevented unvaccinated children from being allowed into kindergartens or play centres without medical exemptions.

But federal health minister Greg Hunt has confirmed the doctors mentioned in the video are under investigation by multiple government regulatory bodies.
